  1. Hello
Great to see this #8 Cirkut. Maybe you can help? I am restoring a very tired #8 outfit, and have reached the point where I have started to take pictures. However, the gearing, despite seeming to be as specified, is plainly wrong. It is entirely possible that there is more than one size of Cirkut tripod-top gear (your “Rotational Gear”) and that I have the wrong one. It came with the #8, but who knows? My big ring gear has 300 teeth. How many does yours have? (Hint – you don’t need to count them all, just count one segment of the rotary scale and multiply up.) It would be great to know, as it looks at present as if I ought to be using a gear with 360 teeth! Of course the problem can be solved easiest by changing the drive gear, but it would be good to know even so.
    Best wishes
    John

      Hi John,

I regret that I don’t own a Cirkut, so I can’t count the teeth on the gear. But, I suggest you track down Andrew Davidhazy, who probably does have one. His e-mail is: andpph@davidhazy.org

Mr. Davidhazy has been involved in panoramic photography for many years, and is a highly-respected genius of experimental panoramic photography.

      Best wishes,
